Aborigine Overview

The aborigines of South East Queensland are a good demonstration of the uniqueness that each tribe possessed, a uniqueness that was specific to the land in which the natives resided. In this region their skills in netmaking, fishing, longer lasting shelters, and community spirit are some of the attributes they held. Still, like other aboriginal tribes, they had a strong sense of tradition and religion, a unique but effective law system upheld by all, and a thorough knowledge of bush medicine, bush food, game, hunting, and bush craft.

The topic is absolutely fascinating, and it is a real privilege to have the documentation to learn how they lived and behaved. Their traditions, skills, and sense of community is a sign of the character the Aboriginals of South East Queensland had. Enjoy!!
